Dinner table set outdoors for a summer evening on Paros

Paros restaurants: where we send our guests to eat

Paros eats well, from ouzeri meze on Naoussa's harbour to wood-fired cooking in Parikia and charcoal grills in the mountain village of Lefkes. Our Naoussa team books your tables, plans the drive or the boat around dinner, and can bring a private chef to your villa when you would rather stay in.

Naoussa: fish on the harbour

Naoussa is where most visitors eat on Paros, and the harbour is the reason. Barbarossa and Tsachpinis serve meze and fish on the old port, from grilled octopus to charcoal-grilled mackerel. Mario, at Livadia by the old port, cooks new Greek dishes around fresh fish, fish pasta and grilled sardines. For a bigger night, Matsuhisa Paros brings Nobu Matsuhisa's Japanese cooking to Piperi beach. Our office is a few minutes' walk away.

Parikia: old-town courtyards

Parikia, the port town, has a quieter, more local dining scene. Levantis has served guests in its garden courtyard for over forty years, with a menu that follows the seasons. Rema Floga is a newer opening that cooks over open fire and in a wood oven. Across the bay, Crios on Krios beach serves Greek summer food by the sea. Parikia is about 15 minutes from Naoussa by car and close to the port if you are catching a ferry.

Villages and the south coast

Some of the island's best cooking is away from the coast. In Lefkes, the mountain village in the centre of Paros, Klarinos grills meat over charcoal and serves kontosouvli and stews, and Pezoula cooks homemade pasta, pies and casseroles. In Marpissa, the taverna of Haroula serves Parian home cooking. On the south coast, the fishing village of Aliki has Thalassamou at the marina. A car with driver, from €600, makes a village dinner easy.

Dinner in Antiparos, by ferry or by boat

Antiparos is 7 minutes from Pounta by car ferry, and its town has a strong food scene for its size. Kalokeri on the main street cooks with top ingredients under chef Vana Vrettou, and Captain Pipinos serves seafood meze by the water at Agios Georgios. Our sunset cruise starts from €1,200 on any Paros boat: swim, watch the sun go down, then step ashore for dinner. See our sunset cruise.

Paros restaurants: questions guests ask

What is the best restaurant in Paros?

Barbarossa and Mario in Naoussa, Matsuhisa Paros at Piperi beach and Levantis in Parikia are the restaurants we recommend most. Barbarossa and Mario are favourites for fish on the harbour, Matsuhisa Paros is the choice for Japanese fusion, and Levantis has served its seasonal menu in a garden courtyard for over forty years.

Where should I eat in Naoussa?

Start at the old harbour. Barbarossa and Tsachpinis serve ouzeri meze and fresh fish on the old port, and Mario at Livadia cooks new Greek dishes around fresh fish and fish pasta. For Japanese fusion, Matsuhisa Paros is in the garden of Avant Mar on Piperi beach, a short walk from the centre.

Do I need to book restaurants in Paros?

Yes, for dinner in July and August, especially at the harbour restaurants in Naoussa. Tables by the water fill first, so book a few days ahead. We make restaurant reservations on request and can move them around your boat or beach plans on WhatsApp, 24/7.

Where can I find traditional food in Paros?

Head inland to the villages. In Lefkes, Klarinos grills meat over charcoal and Pezoula cooks homemade pasta and pies, while the taverna of Haroula in Marpissa serves Parian home cooking such as fritters and stuffed courgette flowers. On the coast, the ouzeri of Naoussa harbour keep to traditional meze.

What are the best restaurants in Antiparos?

Kalokeri on the main street of Antiparos town and Captain Pipinos at Agios Georgios are two strong choices. Cookoovaya at Beach House Antiparos, on Apantima beach, cooks seafood and meat dishes. The car ferry from Pounta takes about 7 minutes, or we arrange a private boat on request.

Can we go to dinner by boat in Paros?

Yes. A sunset cruise on any of our Paros boats starts from €1,200 for a half day, with skipper, fuel, drinks and snacks included. We time it so you watch the sunset at sea and come ashore for dinner, then arrange a driver or the boat for the trip home.
